Send this link, then tell them the trip passcode separately. They pick a name and their own passphrase, and from then on everyone's progress shows up on the same manifest without anyone copying anything.

The link alone gets nobody in — they need the trip passcode too, so send that by a different message. The status code below is the offline fallback: someone with no signal, or opening the file off their own machine, can paste it into “Add by code”.

You are only ever reading their code. Nothing you tick gets sent anywhere until you choose to share it.
